Silent Auction Donations and Book Fair Volunteers Needed

Jag Families,

There is still time to send in Disney themed items or other donations for our NAFC Education Foundation silent auction baskets.  If you have items to donate, your student can take them to the office tomorrow, Tuesday February 14 or Wednesday, February 15.  Thanks to all who have donated so far!

Spring Book Fair time will soon be here!  The dates are Friday, February 24-Thursday March 2, and as always, we’ll need lots of help to make this happen.  If you’re able to volunteer, sign up here: Book Fair Sign Up Genius Time slots are broken down by teacher; for teachers with multiple time slots, ask your student when they will go if you would like to volunteer for that time. Thanks as always for helping us with this event!

February Newsletter

Jag Families,

Hard to believe over half the school year is over already, but it is!  President Connie Hynes has prepared a newsletter with lots of information on programs and upcoming events, and you’ll find that attached to this post. After clicking on the image, if you’re having trouble reading it, clicking on it again should allow you to view it full size.

Also, the Executive Board has completed a review of our bylaws, which had not been updated in far too long.  We have posted the proposed revised bylaws on the website for your review, available at http://hhmspto.net/files/2016/01/bylawsrevision-2017.pdf .  They will be posted for 30 days, then voted on at an upcoming meeting. Our current bylaws are also available on the website for you to refer to as needed, available at http://hhmspto.net/files/2016/05/hhmsptobylaws2007.pdf .

Have a wonderful rest of your week!

First Week Back News!

Jag Families,

We hope everyone’s had a great week back from break! Your PTO has hit the ground running and already has news to share!

–On Wednesday this week, we provided coffee, cocoa, and doughnuts to our HHMS bus drivers. We had a great time chatting with them, and what impressed us the most was how much they love their jobs (and our kids!) and how very dedicated they are.  We’re very thankful for the bus drivers who keep our kids safe each day!

–Second quarter Success Cards for All-A and A/B honor roll students will be distributed January 11 during lunches. If your student isn’t in school that day, they can be picked up from the office after that point.  THANK YOU to the following businesses for their generosity in supporting Highland Hills Middle School students! They are each providing one free food/drink item per quarter through our gold and green Success Cards program for the 2016-2017 school year.  Please show your appreciation by supporting these businesses!

We on PTO have had such an incredible year so far, and it is thanks in large part to our wonderful parents, grandparents, and guardians who volunteer their time and talents when we put out the call for help.
