Congratulations to the following HHMS parents who will be joining us for a fun evening at Huber’s Plantation Hall on 3/9 at 6pm. In the event you are unable to attend, please let President Connie Hynes know ASAP at President@hhmspto.net, and she will fill the seats with our alternates. We had a huge amount of teacher and parent interest, so we are taking 8 staff members and 8 parents. If you did not get selected but would like to attend with us, we are looking into adding a third table of 8, but it will cost $60/person. If you are interested in purchasing a ticket (or two) for this additional table (so that all of us can sit together) please let me Connie know by the evening of Tuesday, February 6. This is also the last call for donations to our silent auction basket. Email Connie if you have items to donate.

February’s Terrific Third Thursday is next week, 2/15: Eat at the State Street Chick Fil-A (remember to say you’re there for HHMS PTO before you pay), turn in Box Tops in baggies with your student’s name on a slip of paper, and shop at Kroger with your HHMS PTO linked Kroger card!
And finally, it’s hard to believe, but we’re already looking ahead to this year’s PTO Board elections. All positions are single year positions, and while we have a few board members willing and able to run for their current positions, we have a number of members who will be unable to run due to their students moving on to high school. Board positions include President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, Fundraising Director, Communications Director, Hospitality Director, and Programs Director. Our Vice President, Secretary, Hospitality Director, and Programs Director will all move on, so our need to fill these positions is particularly great. We also have a number of appointed committee chair positions such as Walkathon, Holiday Bazaar, Success Cards, and many others if you would like to take on a smaller role. If you have any interest in running for a board position or taking on a more focused, shorter term commitment through one of our chair positions, please email firstname.lastname@example.org so the nominating committee can gather candidates to prepare for the election. Involvement in the PTO through board or committees is a great way to stay connected to school happenings and a rewarding way to give back to the school community!
